Events

Diane Anderson, Ph.D., and Charleta Guillory, M.D., received the Fulbright and Jaworski Award for Excellence in Enduring Materials (2005 award, Anderson; 2004 award, Guillory).

Kushal Bhakta, M.D., neonatal-perinatal fellow, received the Young Investigator Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section on Perinatal Pediatrics.

Aaron Germain, M.D., and Mai Phung, M.D., received the Pediatric Training Award from the BCM’s Clinical Scientist Training Program to support research efforts while in the neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship program.

Xanthi Couroucli, M.D., participated in the Association of International Glaucoma Society’s World Glaucoma Congress in Vienna, Austria, July 2005.

Steven Abrams, M.D., organized and directed a team of 11 on a two-week relief mission to Sri Lanka in June, as well as a team of 9 on a 10-day neonatology mission to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Cochabamba and Punata, Bolivia.
